A Taste of Amalfi at Charlie's restaurant and the Donovan Bar at Brown's
If the recent haute couture shows by the likes of Chanel in Florence, Gucci in Puglia and Dolce & Gabbana in Sicily left you craving warm Italian sunshine and the zing of Riviera lemons, then look no further than Charlie's and the Donovan Bar at Brown's.
This September, Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt's signature lemon tart and the maestro of mixology Salvatore Calabrese's Amalfi Dream cocktail are bound to put a spring in your step ahead of a spot of shopping on Bond Street or after a busy day at London Fashion Week.
Alternatively, why not try making Salvatore's delicious cocktail first concocted during a family barbeque in his hometown of Maiori on the Amalfi coast yourself? Here's how...
Ingredients:
50 ml vodka
20 ml Salvatore’s Liquore Di Limone or a good quality limoncello
20 ml freshly squeezed juice from Amalfi lemons
3-4 mint leaves
The method:
In a cocktail shaker, add all the ingredients along with ice, as desired. Next, shake sharply so the ice breaks through the mint leaves. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice, allowing bits of mint leaves to flow in. Finally, garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of an Amalfi lemon. Salute!
