The first half of Stella McCartney’s new adidas collection for spring/summer 2021 has arrived. Called FUTUREPLAYGROUND, it pays homage to the world and the environment with floral prints and bold colours. This first chapter in another collaboration between the two brands is designed on the theme of land and its promised to be closely followed by a second chapter based on the theme of water.
Unlike previous collections, the pieces are designed by female directors and activists including filmmaker Netti Hurley, Japanese artist Monika Mogi and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon.
Like everything Stella McCartney produces, FUTUREPLAYGROUND keeps sustainability at its heart. The collection only uses recycled materials such as PRIMEBLUE, which uses Parley Ocean Plastic, plastic upcycled from ocean waste and PRIMEGREEN, a high-performance yarn made from 50% recycled content.
“We created this collection and campaign in the hope of helping people reconnect with nature and explore the evolved ways in which we’re moving through the world.”

As we continue to spend a lot of our time indoors, this collection is the perfect motivation to go outside, exercise and connect with your environment, which was part of the inspiration for this collection.
