How to Become a Mocha Mousse Muse

Fashion Shopping

Earlier this year, it was announced that the Pantone Colour of the Year would be Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a shade chosen for its ability to “express a global mood and attitude”. Following on from chocolate brown’s breakout as the shade for autumn/winter 2024, Mocha Mousse continues a popular appetite for a rich elegance that simultaneously reflects the comforts of coffee and chocolate.

On the selection of Mocha Mousse, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, Leatrice Eiseman said: ‘Underpinned by our desire for everyday pleasures, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.’

Here, we take a look at how to incorporate the colour in your beauty routine, wardrobe and home interiors.

Dior, Forever Natural Bronze Glow

This limited-edition powder bronze is the perfect shade for a sun-kissed complexion.

Valentino, Rosso Valentino

Searching for the most delicious shade? Valentino’s Walk on the Wild Side refillable lipstick provides a velvety cocoa-coloured finish with up to six hours’ wear.

Chloé, Marcie Hobo Bag

Hobo bags are of the moment and, to no one’s surprise, brown hobo bags are coming out on top. Chloé’s iconic Marcie line has an on-trend slouchy silhouette that feels effortlessly luxe.

Miu Miu, Double-Breasted Gabardine Coat

The easiest way to make an outfit look put together? The perfect coat. An evolution of the trench coat, Miu Miu’s gabardine offering combines laid-back style with a refined finesse thanks to its raw-cut edge.

Dolce & Gabbana, Perseo Bed

From statement trousers to printed gilets, leopard print infiltrated our wardrobes in 2024 and now – thanks to Dolce & Gabbana – our homes are catching on to the trend with the Perseo bed. While the sceptics among you will say it isn’t Mocha Mousse-coded, the pattern incorporates all the gentle cacao tones that make the 2025 Colour of the Year ideal for those “me moments”.

Hermès, Sofa Sellier Armchair

While Hermès’s Sofa Sellier armchair is perhaps more Chanterelle than Mocha Mousse, its coffee hues work perfectly within the 2025 Pantone colour palette, creating a space that is relaxed and elegant.
