Mayfair’s Akira Back Puts a Japanese Spin on Easter Brunch

While a roast dinner is the obvious choice for Easter Sunday, Akira Back at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London is offering a tempting alternative for sushi enthusiasts. Exclusively for Easter, the world-renowned restaurant is serving a brunch like no other – think delicate tempura rock-shrimp and perfectly rolled makizushi.

Consisting of four indulgent courses, diners visiting the fusion restaurant on the 19th and 20th of April can expect a signature sushi platter, a selection of hot and cold dishes, including tender lobster presented in a shell with pickled shimeji mushrooms and jalapeño, salmon tataki, and a zesty yuzu citrus dessert sat on a sablé crumble and served with strawberry gelato.

Regulars to the Mayfair establishment will be delighted to see house favourites such as its iconic tuna pizza with white truffle oil and AB tacos with Wagyu bulgogi making an appearance on the Easter menu.

Looking for a family dining experience? The Japanese restaurant’s children’s menu has a choice of maki rolls and assorted tempura rolls, served alongside Wagyu fried rice and finished with a hot sticky toffee pudding to satiate smaller appetites.

With a limited number of covers, this exclusive menu is a must-try for lovers of Japanese cuisine and with the sun set to cast its rays over Mayfair for the foreseeable, what could be better than freshly prepared seafood under an elegant sky roof?

Hop to it and book here for a brunch to remember.
