This spring, the perfume house opens its concept store in New Bond Street.
In the bohemian haze of 1960s Paris, Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Montadre-Gautrot and Yves Coueslant created a new kind of space that celebrated the senses with an artistic appreciation. For 61 years, Diptyque Paris has created a herbarium of scents and, this spring, the high-end perfume house invites New Bond Street on a voyage through the Diptyque universe.
Inspired by its very first boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain, a space that drew together curious collections of unearthed antiques, tokens from the founders’ travels and everyday objects, the brand is reinventing the Diptyque “concept store” to offer an interlude of beauty and awakening the senses through a landscape of florals and spice. Inside Maison Diptyque visitors can enjoy exclusive previews of new scents, shapes and materials, in addition to a wide variety of bespoke services.
“Diptyque remains faithful to its disruptive, poetic vision”
‘The launch of Maison Diptyque marks a new era,’ says Diptyque CEO, Fabienne Mauny. ‘They exemplify our dedication to expertise, as evidenced both by our own skills in the creation of perfumes and by those of the artisans and artists who contribute to our universe. Enriching the customer experience is central to this initiative – a reminder that, when it comes to the conception of its boutiques, Diptyque remains faithful to its disruptive, poetic vision.’
At 107 New Bond Street, the 400sqm space will be part boutique, part cultural space, presenting new experiences for visitors to discover, including contemporary art installations, events dedicated to the art of living and opportunities to meet personalities connected to the world of the Maisons. With a Parisian sensibility and an appreciation for all things beautiful, the boutique reflects the spirit of its founders, calling to the curious and collectors to let their imagination roam free within the walls of their new concept store.
