The Most Luxurious Afternoon Teas At Home For Mother’s Day

Bond Street and Mayfair are home to some of the world’s finest hotels and their tea rooms and restaurants would normally be the number one choice for Mother’s Day celebrations. This year although we cannot get to the exquisite eateries ourselves, our favourite hotels are bringing that touch of luxury and indulgence to our homes.

To help celebrate Mother’s Day, patisserie teams from The Connaught, Claridge’s and The Berkeley have concocted the sweetest confections that can be delivered direct to our doors in time for Sunday 14^th March.

The Connaught has created its signature hound in sugar-pink vanilla mousse complete with a fetching flower on his collar, sitting proudly on an almond sponge. There is also a pink rose cake, expertly crafted from vanilla sponge, pear, lemon curd, shortbread and Chantilly cream for all the family to indulge in.

Claridge’s is delivering a full afternoon tea experience including fresh scones, made lovingly on the same morning in its kitchens, accompanied by Cornish clotted cream and Marco Polo gelée. There is also mouth-watering fruitcake, pineapple and coconut tarts and Jivara chocolate brownies. For those who prefer the savoury options there are finger sandwiches with delicious fillings from smoked salmon with capers or Norfolk chicken with truffle parmesan, to delicious Clarence Court duck egg with heritage tomatoes. For the finishing touch, Claridge’s blend tea and clotted cream fudge will be added to the ribboned box.

The Berkeley will be delivering a special Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed in stamped brown paper bags, finished with handwritten tags and complete with the day’s newspaper. The breakfast includes fresh-from-the-oven croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, granola and fresh fruit. The Berkeley’s pastry chefs will be crafting chocolate heart plaques with ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ piped for a special touch.

Sunshine yellow tulips courtesy of McQueens Flowers can be added to orders, as can Laurent Perrier champagne for a sparkling Mother’s Day breakfast.
