The Swiss watchmaker has opened a private club in Old Bond Street.
Following in the footsteps of Harrods, Selfridges and Browns, Vacheron Constantin has launched a private club that brings art lovers and connoisseurs together in Mayfair – a destination that has been home to illustrious members’ clubs since 1693.
Named after the maison’s founding year, Club 1755 is an experiential space especially created for Vacheron Constantin’s collectors – loyal followers of the world’s oldest working watch brand, existing for nearly 270 years. Opening its doors on Old Bond Street last month, the 200sqm penthouse is designed with leisure in mind. It comprises several lounge areas, a bar stocked with an eclectic curation of wines and rarified house spirits from Berry Bros & Rudd, exclusively for Club 1755, and a sun terrace overlooking London’s most luxurious district. Here, guests can enjoy Davidoff of London cigars personally selected by the quintessential gentleman, Eddie Sahakian.
Hosting experiences for lovers of horology, art and craftsmanship, Club 1755 will also hold private previews, events and seasonal art exhibitions, commencing with a time-limited sculpture series by award-winning British artist Nick Hornby, entitled Geometry of Time. An experimentalist who works with traditional materials, Hornby embodies the heritage and innovative spirit of the Swiss watchmaker. Showcasing never-before-seen artworks, the exhibition will run until the end of August 2024, with new artistic collaborations to be announced in September 2024.

‘Club 1755 is a sanctuary especially crafted for Vacheron Constantin’s collectors and a community of like-minded individuals, where time stands still and passions ignite,’ says Charlotte Tanneur-Teissier, Vacheron Constantin’s UK brand director. ‘The exhibition of Nick Hornby’s is just the beginning of this extraordinary journey, we look ahead to a bespoke calendar of exclusive activities dedicated to our community members, including exhibitions and tailor-made programmes.’
