Year of the Rabbit: Celebrating the Lunar New Year on Bond Street
The rabbit, the fourth animal in the Chinese zodiac, is symbolic of elegance, beauty and good luck. Inspired by our furry friend, Bond Street's world-renowned brands are celebrating the Lunar New Year in line with the rabbit's effortless sophistication.
Here are some of the limited-edition 'Year of the Rabbit' collections you can shop on Bond Street this Lunar New Year:
Mulberry
With a hop, skip and a jump!
British luxury brand Mulberry collaborates with a familiar face this year: Miffy. The limited-edition Mulberry x Miffy capsule sees Dutch bunny Miffy explore and adventure across a series of bags and accessories. You can find her face peaking playfully out of envelope wallets and playing on the straps of the Bayswater bag.
For the environmentally minded, the Mulberry x Miffy collection is crafted from 100% environmentally accredited carbon neutral leather. And for those of you who have a taste for colour, the collaboration marries the bold colour block world of Miffy with Mulberry's contemporary British style. You can find Miffy on backgrounds of Cornflower Blue, Lawn Green and Coral Orange, creating a bold and playful collection.
Burberry
Take a leap with Burberry and find yourself surrounded by a modern and stylish Lunar New Year Collection. Their capsule collection is a playful interpretation of the iconic Burberry house codes with symmetry at its heart. Inspired by the Year of the Rabbit, the exclusive collection features the Thomas Burberry Monogram playfully reimagined with rabbit ears. This is adorned on womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, along with the signature Lola bag, accessories, cashmere and silk scarves.
The rabbit is a key motif running throughout the collection, including cartoon-inspired iterations: some positioned back-to-back so that the ears meet to form a heart shape whilst others sit atop the Burberry logo.
For their menswear collection: Fleece, puffer and varsity-style jackets are embroidered, appliquéd and printed with the Thomas Burberry Monogram and motifs celebrating the Year of the Rabbit.
Chopard
Chopard brings in the Lunar New Year with a festive twist on their Happy Sport watch, to capture the Joie de Vivre that Year of the Rabbit is known for. The watch face is clad in a ruby-red dress, traditional to the Lunar New Year colours, it combines stainless steel and ethical 18-carat rose gold with five dancing diamonds. The true embodiment of sport-chic, with a 42-hour power reserve.
Against the backdrop of this merry dance, the dial of the Happy Sport Year of the Rabbit model is distinguished by the boldness with which it portrays this creature. Profoundly respectful of tradition, Chopard is always keen to associate its creations with local history and customs. The artisans of the Manufacture have thus placed the transferred golden outline of a rabbit on a textured mother-of-pearl base featuring a red gradient enhanced by a wave motif. Symbolising strength and bravery, the rabbit is depicted seated, with its muzzle pointing towards 2 o'clock and its long ears raised. The Maison's respectful attention to detail has created a beautifully festive edition to their Happy Sport watch collection.
